Functie-eisen
Key Requirements:
- Recognised teaching qualification
- An extensive understanding of teaching Dutch as an additional language
- Proficient in Dutch and English (verbal and written)
- Able to demonstrate creativity, compassion, and a desire to make a difference in the learning of our children
- Able to collaborate on curriculum design and development of our Dutch language programme
- Experience in the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP) or similar inquiry-based curriculum is preferred
- Able to incorporating multilingualism and appreciation of home languages into the curriculum
- A commitment to our school’s mission, vision and values
- A European work visa or passport
- Excellent knowledge and experience of different teaching and educational methodologies
- Able to differentiate instruction to meet needs and strengths of a diverse student population
- Excellent communication skills and ability to function well within a team
- A great sense of humour and an optimistic attitude
Arbeidsvoorwaarden
Key Responsibilities:
- Support classroom teachers in delivering the IB PYP curriculum across a range of subjects.
- Assist in planning and implementing engaging learning activities that cater to the diverse needs of students.
- Provide individualised support to students, including those with special educational needs (SEN) and English as a second language (ESL) learners.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Support students’ academic and personal development, ensuring they can reach their full potential.
- Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development opportunities.

The 2023-2024 school year marks the start of Amersfoort International School (AIS). AIS is founded by KPOA and linked to the Dutch primary school De Kubus. AIS offers English-language international primary education for children from 4 to 12 years old in a newly renovated school building on Noordewierweg in Amersfoort.
A community school in the city of AmersfoortSuccessful schools are at the heart of a community and AIS is extremely fortunate to be located in the city of Amersfoort, which boasts a diverse and multinational population. AIS cooperates with local and international communities, in order to learn from eachother and share its educational practices with Dutch schools in the region.
